Minister KTR launched the American India Foundation
Minister KTR attended the inauguration ceremony of American India Foundation (AIF) Hyderabad chapter as the chief guest. Speaking on this occasion, the minister said that with the establishment of the Hyderabad branch of the American India Foundation (AIF), the relations between India and America will be further strengthened. He said that choosing Telangana to start the first branch in India is a welcome development. This organization was formed in 2001 on the initiative of the then US President Bill Clinton at the request of the then Prime Minister of India Vajpayee. America and Telangana have an inseparable bond.
More than 500 American
companies have invested in Telangana. Their huge premises are also in
Hyderabad. Hyderabad has a rich history in heritage, historical and cultural
fields. The foundations here are strong in science, technology, biomedical and
aero space fields. No other consulate in the world grants as many student visas
as the US Consulate in Hyderabad.
In this context, it is a
matter of pride to establish the first branch of AIF in Hyderabad in India.
This organization provides services in the fields of women and children
development, poverty alleviation, education, medicine, environment protection
etc. The Telangana government will provide the necessary assistance to
them," he said.
