Satyabhama Jamuna of silver screen passes away

Senior actress Jamuna (86) passed away today. He breathed his last at his home in Hyderabad. Jamuna was born on 30th August 1936 in Hampi. Jamuna made his film debut in 1953 with the movie Putillu. Acted in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi movies.


Jamuna, who was suffering from illness for some time, breathed his last at his residence in Hyderabad. She acted in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films. Acted with many legendary actors including NTR, ANnar, Jaggaiah. Jamuna was born on 30 August 1936 in Hampi, Karnataka. She spent her entire childhood in Duggiras of Guntur district. Meanwhile, her first film is Puttillu. But because it was the same village as actor Jaggaiah, Jamuna's family had some familiarity.

Jaggaiah saw Jamuna who was attracted to plays at that time and gave her an opportunity in his plays. So she first performed in dramas like Khilji Rajya Pathanam and Ma Bhoomi. Dr. Garikipati Raja Rao saw her play 'Ma Bhoomi' and gave her her first film opportunity. Ala Jamuna first worked for the movie 'Puttillu' which was released in 1952. She became the carafe address for tough roles, especially Satyabhama's role.
